Super Falcons captain Rasheedat Ajibade has expressed hope of returning to action soon after undergoing successful surgery for an injury sustained during Nigeria’s 2028 Olympic Games qualifying campaign against Comoros.
The 26-year-old forward confirmed the successful procedure in a post on her Instagram page, where she thanked fans for their love, support and prayers as she begins her recovery.
“Surgery done. Recovery mode on. Thank you all for the love and prayers. Back soon for His greater glory,” Ajibade wrote.
Ajibade sustained the injury during the second leg of Nigeria’s second-round qualifying fixture against Comoros on Tuesday, forcing her to begin a recovery process that will keep her out of action for an unspecified period.
Although the surgery was reported to have been successful, no official details have been released regarding the nature of the procedure or the length of her rehabilitation.
The Super Falcons captain’s return date therefore remains uncertain, with her recovery expected to determine when she can resume playing for club and country.
