The Lagos State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of 25-year-old Samson Oghenebreme in the Odomola area of Epe, Lagos State, for allegedly transporting biological materials suspected to be human parts, reportedly intended for illicit traditional rituals.
According to CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, spokesperson for the Command, the arrest was carried out by officers from the Odo-Noforija Division on April 25, 2025, following reports from residents about the suspect’s suspicious movements.
Preliminary investigation suggests the materials were being moved from Edo State to a traditional practitioner. The recovered items have been handed over to the General Hospital, Epe, for proper handling and forensic assessment.
The case has since been transferred to the Edo State Police Command for further investigation and prosecution.
Commissioner of Police, CP Olohundare Jimoh, commended the swift action of the officers and the vigilance of community members.
He reiterated the importance of public cooperation in intelligence gathering and maintaining public safety.
