— Labels him a political impostor, serial blackmailer
By Karo Awodeha

The Delta State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has strongly disassociated itself from recent accusations made by Collins Eselemo against the Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, labeling Eselemo a serial blackmailer and political impostor.

Eselemo, during a live interview on a national television, had accused Governor Oborevwori of mismanaging N450 billion and further claimed that the governor, who recently joined the APC, could not assume leadership of the party in the state.
Reacting in a statement made available to journalists, the APC described Eselemo’s remarks as “reckless, malicious, and entirely unfounded.”
Signed by the party’s State Publicity Secretary, Valentine Onojeghuo, Esq., the statement emphasized that Eselemo neither speaks for nor represents the APC.
“Collins Eselemo is not, and has never been, a recognized member of the APC in Delta State,” the party stated. “He contested the 2023 elections under the NNPP and has not been formally registered or received into our party. His claim to APC membership is fraudulent and should be disregarded.”
Describing Eselemo as a “discredited political opportunist,” the party accused him of a track record marred by blackmail, betrayal, and serial party switching. It reaffirmed its commitment to internal discipline and credible leadership under the chairmanship of Elder Omeni Sobotie.
In defense of Governor Oborevwori, the APC praised his administration’s record of fiscal prudence.
“Since assuming office, Governor Oborevwori has not borrowed a single kobo—either domestically or internationally—a fact that is both verifiable and unprecedented in recent Delta State history,” the statement added.
The party condemned what it called a rising trend of political blackmail and impersonation by individuals exploiting party platforms for personal gain.
“Delta APC is not a refuge for political vagabonds seeking convenience or relevance,” Onojeghuo asserted. “We are a party built on structure, ideology, and discipline.”
He urged the media and public to be wary of impostors presenting themselves as stakeholders without legitimate standing.
The party called for a focus on constructive politics and development-oriented dialogue:
“Enough of the distractions. Enough of the lies. Delta APC will not be dragged into the gutters by political impostors like Collins Eselemo,” the statement declared.
