The Delta State House of Assembly has passed a resounding vote of confidence in Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, citing his visionary leadership, prudent financial management, and wide-reaching developmental achievements as the basis for its endorsement.

The vote of confidence followed the governor’s presentation of a mid-term report during the State of the State Address, the first of its kind in Delta’s history, where he highlighted key accomplishments in infrastructure, social services, and public sector reforms. The motion was moved by Deputy Speaker, Rt. Hon. Arthur Akpowowo, and seconded by Hon. Edafe Emakpor of Uvwie Constituency.

In a separate motion, the House commended Governor Oborevwori for transformational governance and his commitment to improving the lives of Deltans. The motion, moved by the Leader of the House, Hon. Emeka Nwaobi, and seconded by Hon. Ferguson Onwo, was unanimously adopted by the lawmakers through a voice vote presided over by Speaker, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Guwor.

Speaker Guwor praised the governor for demonstrating excellence in governance through impactful projects and inclusive policies. He said the Assembly’s unanimous decision reflects the confidence of the people in the governor’s direction and performance.

In his address, Governor Oborevwori unveiled 42 road projects across the state to mark his administration’s second anniversary. These include the 46-kilometre dualisation of the Ughelli–Asaba Road (Sectors C1 and C2), the Kwale–Beneku bridge, and internal roads in communities like Kokori, Ogbinbiri, and Kurutie, among others.

He also highlighted ongoing signature projects such as the three flyovers and slipways in Warri and Effurun, which are expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2026. According to him, these projects reflect the core values of the MORE Agenda — transparency, innovation, and people-centered governance.

Governor Oborevwori reaffirmed his commitment to delivering good governance and inclusive growth, noting that the past two years have laid a strong foundation for even greater impact in the years ahead. He assured the Assembly and the people of Delta that his administration remains focused on fulfilling its mandate.

The Assembly’s endorsement of the governor’s leadership underscores growing political support for his administration and sets a confident tone for the remaining half of his tenure.
