The recent conferment of the ICON on the Governor Delta State,Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwwori by the national leadership of the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, has been tagged an outstanding testimonial to his performance.
Making the submission in a media chat, the All Progressives Congress (APC) flag bearer for Ika South Constituency into the Delta State House of Assembly, DTHA in the 2027 general elections, Hon
Mrs. Cordilia Anyangwu, said the award was well deserved.
Anyagwu congratulated the governor on the award, which, she said, bore enduring credible testimony to the impressive all-sector performance of the governor.
She noted that the Governor had impressed with his infrastructural development initiatives, particularly road, bridges and related facilities as part of efforts to improve accessibility, inter- community link and communication, boost the economy and hedge up living standards.
Anyangwu particularly mentioned the numerous multi- billion Naira flyover and bridges in parts of the state as a clear evidence
of the top-notch performance of the governor.
According to her, the governor had also excelled in human capital development with the recruitment of personnel into various sections of the public service, the regular payment of salaries, wages and allowance to its workforce, the prompt payment of retirement benefits, the provision of housing accommodation and operational vehicles for judges and permanent secretaries, the liquidation of the inherited promotion benefits of affected workers, the payment of bursary to more than 90,000 students, the empowerment of windows, traders and artisans as well as the support for local governments in the state to clear the huge backlog of the entitlements of retirees at that tier of government.
Anyangwu equally recalled the recruitment of personnel into the vital health sector and the provision of kits and equipment , including the Computerised Tomography (CT) Scan and the Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) to hospitals to enhance their operational efficiency as elements of the overall pressure performance of the governor.
The APC flag bearer stressed that the impressive performance of the governor earned him the award at the hands of what she termed an exceptionally objective and dispassionate organization reputed for its integrity.
She urged Deltans to continue to support the governor to enable him deliver more services on the peg of his MORE Agenda
