Tinubu ends Saudi visit, thanks King Salman for access to Kaaba

Date:

President Bola Tinubu has wrapped up his visit to Saudi Arabia, thanking King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud for granting him and his delegation access to the Holy Kaaba in Makkah.

The President announced the end of the visit in a post on his X handle on Monday, describing the opportunity to offer prayers inside Islam’s holiest site as a rare privilege.

He also expressed appreciation to Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Mohammed bin Salman, for the hospitality extended to the Nigerian delegation.

Tinubu said the opportunity allowed him to pray for Nigeria and its citizens.

“In those sacred moments, I prayed for peace, unity and prosperity for our dear nation and for all Nigerians,” the President wrote.

The visit followed his departure from Abuja on Thursday, October 29, for the Islamic spiritual exercise.

Members of the delegation included several state governors, the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Lateef Fagbemi; Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Professor Muhammad Ali Pate; BUA Group Chairman, Abdul Samad Rabiu; and Oando Chief Executive Officer, Wale Tinubu.
