Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, has confirmed Prof. Kate Azuka Omenugha as the substantive Vice Chancellor of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU), Igbariam.
A statement by the governor’s Press Secretary, Christian Aburime, said the confirmation was formally conveyed to Prof. Omenugha through an official letter presented by the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Solo Chukwulobelu, at a ceremony held at the Light House in Awka.
According to the statement, the appointment followed a rigorous interview process, reflecting the Soludo administration’s commitment to merit-based leadership and the advancement of higher education in the state.
Governor Soludo reaffirmed his administration’s focus on educational excellence and the need for strong leadership in Anambra’s tertiary institutions. He expressed full confidence in Prof. Omenugha’s capacity to reposition COOU for greater achievements and pledged the state government’s full support throughout her tenure.
