Police Extends Tinted Glass Permit Deadline to October 2, 2025

Date:

The Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, has approved another extension for enforcing the Tinted Glass Permit requirement for vehicles with tinted windows, shifting the start date to October 2, 2025.

Force Public Relations Officer, DCP Muyiwa Adejobi, said in a statement that the decision followed a surge in online applications through the official portal, reflecting increased public compliance.

According to him, the extension will allow the police ample time to thoroughly review applications to ensure permits are granted only to eligible individuals, in line with national security concerns. It will also enable the continued refinement of both digital and physical verification processes to preserve the integrity of the permit system and prevent misuse.

Adejobi stressed that the only authorized platform for applications is https://possap.gov.ng, urging Nigerians to ignore unofficial channels. He also encouraged the public to report extortion, hidden charges, or unauthorized processing to the police via the dedicated hotline: 09169967000.

The Nigeria Police Force, he added, appreciates citizens’ cooperation and remains committed to balancing public convenience with strong security measures for the safety of all.
