Former President Goodluck Jonathan on Thursday hosted the 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, in Abuja.
Obi, who confirmed the visit in a post on his official X handle, described Jonathan as an elder brother and respected statesman.
“Today in Abuja, I met with my very dear elder brother, statesman, and leader, former President Goodluck Jonathan. We had a fruitful closed-door meeting and discussed the state of our dear nation,” Obi wrote.
Although he did not provide details of their conversation, Obi noted that the engagement centred on pressing national issues.
It remains unclear if the 2027 general elections formed part of their discussions.
