Arsenal’s gamble on Noni Madueke is already paying dividends. The former Chelsea winger, signed this summer, delivered a dazzling man-of-the-match performance as the Gunners cruised to a 3-0 victory over Nottingham Forest at the Emirates.

Stepping in for the injured Bukayo Saka, Madueke terrorised the Forest backline throughout, while fellow newcomers Martin Zubimendi and Victor Gyökeres also stamped their authority on the game. Zubimendi fired Arsenal ahead with a brilliant first-half volley before Gyökeres doubled the lead less than a minute after the restart, finishing off Eberechi Eze’s pinpoint pass.

Zubimendi rounded off a memorable evening with a late header from Leandro Trossard’s cross, sealing an emphatic win that lifted spirits in North London after the pre-international break defeat to Liverpool.
For manager Mikel Arteta, the result underscored the impact of his summer signings. For Ange Postecoglou, however, it was a sobering evening, his Forest side comprehensively outclassed from start to finish.
