The Delta State Sports Commission has approved the constitution of the Media and Publicity Sub-Committee to oversee information management and publicity for the 2025 National Youth Games (NYG), scheduled to hold in Asaba from August 26 to September 6, 2025.

This will be the third consecutive edition of the Games hosted by Delta State, following the successful staging of the 2023 and 2024 editions — a feat that further cements Asaba’s reputation as Nigeria’s sporting capital.

According to the list released, the 13-member Media/Publicity Sub-Committee will be chaired by Mr. Eodge Sunday, with Mrs. Okonma Franka serving as Secretary. Other members include Mr. Harrison Ocholor, Mr. Sam Ijeh, Mr. Gowon Akpodonor, Mr. Azuka Chiemeka, Mr. Eze Christian, Mr. Fred Edoreh, Mr. Nelson Egware, Mr. Okpimo Steven, Mr. Ikopi Ogbemudia, Mr. Shedrack Udu, and Mr. Jude Agbeke.
The Commission explained that the Sub-Committee has the mandate to design and implement a robust publicity strategy, manage media relations, coordinate press activities, and ensure adequate national and international coverage of the Games.
Officials of the Sports Commission expressed confidence that the calibre of journalists and communication experts on the committee would guarantee effective projection of the 2025 edition, in line with Delta’s tradition of excellence in sports hosting.
