Court Restrains Police, IGP from Enforcing Tinted Glass Permit Policy

Date:

By Wealth Oghenemaro

The Federal High Court sitting in Warri has barred the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) and the Inspector General of Police (IGP) from enforcing the tinted glass permit policy pending the determination of a suit before it.

The interim order was issued on Friday in Suit No. FHC/WR/CS/103/2025, filed by lawyer John Aikpokpo-Martins against the IGP and the NPF.

It will be recalled that the Delta State Police Command had earlier announced plans to begin enforcement of the ban on tinted glass, sirens, and other unauthorized accessories with effect from October 2, 2025.

Publicity Secretary of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Bridget Edokwe, explained that the court directed the police authorities to maintain the status quo, respect judicial processes, and refrain from any action that could undermine the ongoing legal proceedings.
