Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia, on Wednesday, dissolved the State Executive Council, including the office of the Chief of Staff.

The Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Tersoo Kula, who announced the development, said the former Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Barr. Moses Atagher, has been appointed as the new Chief of Staff.

According to Kula, the dissolution was announced during the 12th Executive Council meeting of 2025.
He described Atagher as a seasoned administrator and former acting Managing Director of the Federal Mortgage Bank, adding that he is to assume duties immediately.
Governor Alia expressed appreciation to the outgoing commissioners for their two years of service, urging those who may not be reappointed to remain loyal to the party and continue supporting the administration.
Speaking on behalf of the former commissioners, Barr. Bemsen Mnyim thanked the governor for the opportunity to serve, describing the experience as a valuable learning process.
All former commissioners, according to Kula, have been directed to hand over to the permanent secretaries of their respective ministries.
