American rapper and music mogul, Shawn Carter, popularly known as Jay-Z, has officially been named the world’s richest musician.
According to Forbes, the Roc Nation boss is now worth an estimated $2.5 billion. His fortune stems from diverse investments and business ventures, including Roc Nation, the luxury champagne brand Armand de Brignac (Ace of Spades), and the cognac label D’Ussé.
Jay-Z has also earned substantial profits from the sale of the music streaming service Tidal and his fashion brand, Rocawear. Beyond entertainment, he maintains investments in real estate, hospitality, technology, and startup companies.
Meanwhile, Taylor Swift has retained her spot as the world’s richest female musician with a net worth of $1.6 billion. Forbes notes that Swift is the first musician to achieve billionaire status purely from earnings generated through her music and tours.
